last night was absolutely amazing. we climbed up the steps of the arc de triomphe to see the sunset over paris. i got footage of the eiffel tower while it sparkled - which will definitely make the cut for the video i plan on making of paris. we met an interesting lebanese guy who thought jackie looked french, lisa looked lebanese, and me - well he dubbed me "strange." guess the blonde hair and freckles threw him off haha.
this morning we took the metro to the palace of versailles. we hopped on the wrong one by accident but someone was nice enough to help us out (and even spoke english). there happened to be a starbucks by the train station which was a pleasant surprise. however, my chai tea latte cost about 7 us dollars. the palace was incredible, words cant even describe. i cant imagine what someone would do with property that large. everything was gold and ornate and decorated.
after that we ate at a mexican restaurant (i know, were in paris, but we couldnt resist). my quesadilla was made with goat cheese and onions, which i didnt enjoy very much. we then took the train back, walked back to the apartment, and hung around for the night. were still pretty jet lagged / tired, and wanted to write some postcards, organize our (mass amounts) of luggage for our trip to nice, get caught up on sleep since we havent been able to get more than a couple hours at a time. our bodies seem to be pretty confused about when we should be sleeping.
