we finally got a full night of sleep yayyyyyy. it was much needed.
after waking up early to go reserve our train spot for our next stop, nice, we walked to notre dame. right when we exited the train station to try to find the seine river, we went down some kind of a loading area. someone came up from behind an older man and started to put his hands around his neck and take swings at him. it looked like he was getting mugged and i straight up booked it out of there. hope everything was ok :( although im guessing nothing good could have come out of that situation.
the notre dame was absolutely huge and the inside of the church was the prettiest ive ever seen. the bridge used to get to the island its located on is full of locks. according to an article, couples have attached a padlock to the rail of the bridge, locked it, carved their initials or a little note into the lock, then pitch the keys into the seine river. we also played on the swings in the garden, watched children chase pigeons, and played on some bouncy thing in the park.
the louvre was next. we saw the mona lisa, winged victory, venus of milo, the sphynx, and code of hammurabi. then we took a lonnngggg walk back to charles de gaulle ave and walked in and out of some shops. we arrived back the apt and got some food at the local bakery and rested - our feet have never felt so sore in our lives.
time to pack for the trip to nice tomorrow to relax before starting classes in rome!
